Chief Flying Instructor

Are you passionate about aviation and teaching? Do you have experience in leading and managing flight operations? If so, you might be the perfect candidate for the position of Chief Flying Instructor at Kāpiti Aero Club.

Kāpiti Aero Club is a leading flight training organisation and vibrant member-focused aero club that offers comprehensive training programs for aspiring pilots. We are looking for a Chief Flying Instructor who can oversee our flight instructors, curriculum, policies, and procedures. You will be responsible for ensuring that our students receive high-quality instruction that meets or exceeds CAA standards and regulations.

 

Located in the heart of the beautiful Kāpiti Coast close to sweeping uncrowded beaches, shops and restaurants and only 45 minutes from the capital city, the CFI position at Kāpiti Aero Club offers the perfect opportunity to mix a relaxed lifestyle with a rewarding professional role.

 

As CFI you will manage four full time staff, five part time instructors and 2 contractors. The aero club fleet consists of six C-152s, two G-1000 equipped C-172S Skyhawks, one C172M, PA-38 Tomahawk, PA-28 Archer, and a VR G1000 flight simulator hangared alongside modern, comfortable club rooms.

Whether your goal is to build flight hours for entry into the airlines or seek a career in flight training, we invite you to join our team and expand your aviation horizons.  Kāpiti Aero Club has operated for over 25 years, with many of our instructors going on to successful careers with Merlin Labs, Sounds Air, JetStar, Air New Zealand and Cathay Pacific.

 

We always love to hear from aspiring C Category instructors (either under direct supervision or out of supervision) or A/B Category instructors who would like to join our team.
