Aircraft & Pricing
The Kāpiti Aero Club offers a range of aircraft for both training and private hire. The primary training aircraft are seven Cessna 152 aircraft. Three of them are Cessna Aerobats and can be used for aerobatic training. Aircraft can be booked online by club members using Paper Aviator. The Solo Hire rate is for the aircraft only, and the Dual Hire rate also includes the instructor’s time.
If you’ve never flown before, start with one of our trial flight packages for aeroplane or helicopter.
Cessna 152 (C152/A152)

The C-152 is a reliable and affordable two-seater aircraft, ideal for pilot training. We have a fleet of seven C152s, three of which are Aerobats rated for aerobatic manoeuvres.
Piper Tomahawk (PA38)
Number in fleet: 1
The Piper Tomahawk is a two-seater training aircraft with a low-wing design. With it’s spacious cabin and great visibility, it is a great alternative to the C152 for initial training.
Cessna Skyhawk (C172M)
Number in fleet: 1
Measured by its longevity and popularity, the C-172 is the most successful aircraft in history. Larger and roomier than the C-152, the Cessna 172 provides extra power, extra payload and the ability to fly into very short strips.
Cessna Skyhawk (C172S G1000)

Tried and true, the C172S is the perfect platform for IFR and cross-country training in New Zealand. Kāpiti Aero Club operates two C172S, offering G1000 glass cockpits, dual-axis autopilot and 2D/3D IFR capability
Piper Archer II (PA28)
Number in fleet: 1
A very comfortable four-seater with a great payload, range and speed. Perfect for cross-country trips with great passenger comfort.
G1000 Simulator
We are proud to offer an exceptional training experience with our Garmin G1000 Avionics Trainer, available for both VFR and IFR training.

- Prices include GST.
- Additional charges for ground time may apply from time to time (eg: BFRs, Flight Test Prep and Type Ratings).
- When operating an aircraft hired from the aero club all pilots must adhere to the Kāpiti Aero Club Flight Orders.
