Welcome to the Kapiti Aero Club
Kapiti Districts Aero Club (KDAC), provides first class practical and theoretical pilot training in fixed wing aircraft.
Located on Kapiti Road near the sandy beaches of Paraparaumu, 50km north of Wellington, the Kapiti Districts Aero Club and Kapiti Air Academy are home to a fleet of aircraft operated by both organisations.
The club offers a diverse range of aircraft which allows it to offer both basic and advanced flight training up to and including multi-engine and multi-engine IFR training.
Trial and aerobatic flights are a speciality and are a popular birthday or Christmas gift.
Kapiti Coast Airport has superb weather, sealed and grass runways and is in close proximity to a variety of training areas. The discipline of flying in Wellington’s controlled airspace can be experienced within a few minutes of departing Paraparaumu.
On the other hand the freedom of flight amongst the beautiful and remote Marlborough Sounds is only 30 minutes away as well. We’re central and are spoiled for choice.
With over 200 members and the Air Academy student population, there is plenty of activity on the Kapiti Coast.
